The Purpose of Band Boosters:
The band boosters were formed to raise funds for the band. To promote
fund raising, band boosters obtained a 501(c)(3) not for profit status.
All donations are tax deductible. Band boosters primary purpose is
to raise funds in support of the activities of the band, including
paying for extra staff support, competition entry fees, hotel rooms for
overnight trips, food for out of town trips, uniforms, as needed, and
travel costs. The boosters also support the band by acting as chaperones on
out of town trips, cooking for the students on out of town trips,
hauling equipment on trips, altering band uniforms, and assisting at
concerts. Our primary fund raiser is the Central Coast Classic Marching Band
Field Competition. We also raise money through the sale of dessert
items at all football games, a membership drive, selling of band logo
merchandise, a spring barbeque, carwash and the winter formal. This year
we will also be eligible for a fireworks stand.
The district provides the band with approximately $ 6,000 to $ 7,000 a
year. Band boosters raises the other $ 50,000 necessary to support the
program.
