- School Hours are 8:50-3:00 for 1st-6th and 8:45-2:30 for Kindergarten.
- Supervision is provided from 8:35-3:15 on a daily basis.
- Daily school attendance is required. California schools do not receive funding for students who are sick or unexcused.
- Oceano School maintains a closed campus. Once students have arrived on campus, they are not to leave school until the close of the school day unless arrangements have been made in the school office.
- All parents and visitors must check in at the office.
- Parents may not visit classrooms unless they have checked in at the office.
- Students not enrolled at Oceano may not visit classes or be on campus.
- Students are expected to dress in an appropriate manner for school. No hats are allowed during the school day.
- Breakfast is provided from 8:30-8:50 on a daily basis.
- Homework Clinic is provided at each grade level after school. Please contact your child's teacher for information.
- Academic support classes are offered. Please contact your child's teacher for information.
- Positive behavior is expected and taught on a daily basis.
- Oceano School uses Character Counts to teach positive behavior traits.
- Inappropriate behaviors may result in the following: loss of recess, phone calls home, detention, or suspension from school.
- Disruptive or defiant students may be suspended.
- The staff and parents of Oceano School believe in recognizing positive behavior. We hold monthly Dolphin Dollar Assemblies to reward positive student behavior. We also hold regular Academic Assemblies in which we recognize students for demonstrating Character Counts.
