| today was a great day for the whole track team, we gave our toughest opponent paso a run for their money and came out on top. Congrats to all the people who came in first second or third in their individual races be it jv or varsity, be glad you were in the top 3. As for the varsity boys jump, throws, long distance, and sprints we competed with intent to win and we did .. perfection. I want to thank my relay team mates for sticking in there even tho they might have been hurt or didnt want to run, LT, Christian, Bo, and John. well this meet is over and done with time to move on to the next team, and now that we set such high standards we arent lowering the bar from now on. great job everybody! |

| Mt. Pleasant Relays- Girls Sprints/Hurdles |

| Both girl hurdle teams were awesomely ran by Kylie-Dub and our 3 new comers Erica, Jessica & Ashley. The 4-100 was ran by Batman, Kylie, Alex and anchored by freshman Emma W. After the race was over we were told that there was a problem with every teams' starting spot, so unfortunately they had to run the race again. (All 4 girls ran awesome both times)
The 4-400 relay was an event that will never be forgotten. It was ran by 3 freshman and 1 sophomore. Emma-Dub and Alex aka 'Flash' had a combined personal best of 5 seconds!! That is an amazing accomplishment especially for their first meet of the year. Hannah G ran a great leg for the team..(she was asked to fill in 1 hour before the event started). Our last runner was Jessica who clearly has a competitive edge. She ran with the front of the pack which included girls twice her height and who were obviously upperclassmen. She was running so fast that her legs couldn't keep up with her determination to win that race. Jess never gave up and made sure she finished the race; hence her nickname 'Superman'. Congratulations to Emma-Dub and Flash for becoming members of the sub 60 club. Also a congrats for the freshman girls who stepped up to the plate, took one for the team and absolutely ran their hearts out..I am truely proud of those who tried their best on Saturday.. |

| Everyone who participated at the relays in San Jose did a great job. It was the first "Big" meet for the rookies and I thought that those athletes competed extremely well.
John, John, Clay & Seth teamed up together for the 110 and 300 hurdle races, and ran great. Bo, Christian, Speedy Gonzalez and Lataurus ran the 4-100 faster than they ran it in League Finals last year! Not bad at all for their first meet! Speedy, Bo and LT welcomed freshman Costa on the 4-200 relay team. Our mile relay team consisted of John, Garrett O, LT and Christian, who all ran really well.
Very impressive marks for the track AND field events.. |

| finally a team |

|
| i have noticed that this year the team we have is ready to win, i feel that we have a really good chance of winning league this year as long as everyone stays strong. Although we have a lack of seniors as in previous years we have younger kids who are stepping up and taking the responsibility, and i want to say thank you to those kids. To the coaches thank you guys for taking time out of your schedules to be out there to help us win and make .sure we have the tools we need to win. Should be a good season this year and im excited for this upcoming thursday for the meet against Cabrillo. |

| I wanted to start off by saying how impressed I am with the amount of athletes we have so far. EVERY SINGLE ATHLETE has been working very, very hard. Let's keep that up because I promise, it will pay off in the end. 'Mini Meet' coming soon, including RELAY tryouts which are going to be held on Saturday, Feb. 28th at 10AM at the AGHS Track. You will have plenty of time to work on starting blocks. Good Luck! Any questions, my e-mail is dchex5@yahoo.com |
