Dear Dorothea Lange Families,
Welcome to the 2013/2014 school year! I look forward to another exciting year leading staff and students to setting and achieving goals. Our mission is to serve our community by providing a high quality education that inspires a lifelong love of learning, produces high achievement, and instills a strong value for self and others. I am proud to be part of this community!
We welcome many new staff members to our Lange family this year. We have four new teachers and two teachers transferring into our school. Our new teachers are Kimberly Fischer, kindergarten; Jasmine Reed, third grade and mentor teacher; Samantha Le, fourth grade teacher and Kaileigh Arnold, Resource Specialist Teacher. Teachers transferring to our school from other schools in our district are Nancy Martin transferring in from Grover Heights as second grade teacher and mentor teacher and Josie Gibbs transferring from Dana as part time Resource Specialist Teacher. Our new speech pathologist is Courtney Lagoria and our new school psychologist is Melissa Melton.
Our student/parent handbook is a treasure of information. Please read through it with your child so that all of us in the Lange community know the expectations, policies and procedures which will help our students to be successful. You will find a district calendar, while our school calendar is included in our first day packet. Please keep this booklet for reference throughout the year. There are 3 pages that will need to be signed at the end of the handbook and returned to school; “Computer Use Agreement for Grades 4-6”, “Parent/Guardian Computer Use Agreement” and “Notice of Receipt of Parent/Student Handbook”.
I look forward to seeing all of you during the year. Look for monthly school newsletters for information on upcoming events such as Parent/Principal Coffee, parent participation events, SSC and ELAC meetings, PTO meetings, along with school updates and celebrations.
