Parents attended Back-to-School night to understand what was expected of their children and how they could get the best grades possible. Mrs. Mills is in a wheel chair after breaking her leg on the day she returned from Afghanistan. |

![]() Chinese Gate Guards protected the ancient Chinese Gates of our classrooms. Students worked on portrait proportions during this art/social studies lesson. |
![]() All students had to participate in Science Projects that were entered in the Science Fair and presented to the class. Families were encouraged to participate in the project. Display boards were mandatory along with a 5 paragraph report. Hands on displays were encouraged for the younger students at Dana. There were many excellent projects. This is an on going assignment each year. |
![]() Students used computer research to compose Egyptian Brochures encouraging tourists to visit and learn more about the Ancient Society of Egypt and Kush. Students also learned about cartouches and hieroglyphic writing. They learned to write their names in phonetic ancient Egyptian for display in the classroom. |
![]() Students learned about Chinese Characters and the history of written language in Chinese Ancient Societies. Black ink, first invented by the Han People in China over 4,000 years ago, was used to communicate poetry through art. Students learned to paint bamboo in grey shades and other items of nature to communicate their own sense of beauty in nature for display in our classroom. |
![]() Students worked together to create a self sustaining biome within a terrarium. Students learned that there had to be coal and gravel filters, a water source, circulating evaporation and precipitation and plants to clean the CO2 and create an atmosphere with oxygen produced by the plants with the help of a source of light to keep the plants healthy and producing. |
