Sac Results: http://www.royalresults.com/results/2013/2013%20CIF%20Finals.htm Jade Winning the 800m Video: http://www.runnerspace.com/eprofile.php?event_id=2537&do=videos&video_id=88839 Jade Fuller shatters the school record by about 1.5 seconds and sets a personal best by 2.5 seconds. She was also crowned CIF Div. 2 champion in the 800m. Jade ran a smart and controlled race. Her first lap was 65 seconds and she raced like an experienced 800m specialist picking off runners in the 3rd 200m to catch the leaders (two of them collided and fell) and the race was on with Jade using her momentum off the last turn to outkick the leader and run her last lap in 68 seconds to win in 2:13.93. Jade has had a phenomenal senior season with her league championship, league meet record, school record, and CIF championship in the 800m. Her hardwork, committment, focus, and her ability to stick to the race plans have paid off. We are very proud of you Jade! PR'S: 800m: Jade 2:13.93 School Record/CIF Champion |

Wow, what a day! We are very proud of all of you. The girls went 1, 3, 6 in the 1600m; 1, 2, 3 in the 800m (clean sweep); and 2, 5, 6 in the 3200m. There were 3 updates to the All Time List, 7 qualifiers to CIF in individual events, 1 meet record, 2 league champions, 2 runner up league champions, and 11 personal bests set at league finals from our distance squad. What a way to finish her senior league Finals meet after being hurt last year at this time. The girls 4x800m started things off with a bang by placing 2nd in the Invitational section with the 3rd fastest time in the country and a school record. 3 of the 4 girls set personal bests and are either freshman or sophmores (What does that mean for next year!). Jade started things off for the girls showing her experienced racing tactics by pulling herself from 10th to just behind the leader going into the exchange. Freshman Angie and then Jocelyn where able to keep 2nd place for us and Elizabeth was able to use her aggressive racing style to seal second place for us in this national caliber performance. The boys 4x800m placed third in a school record time and were highlighted by breakout performances from Everet "Roscoe" and Nate, which experienced solid pr's. The boys and girls 4x1600m both competed well and had respectable finishes with the girls setting another school record. The boys competed aggressively in the DMR on Saturday to finish 9th Place and the girls came back Saturday night and burned up the track in their 3rd Inviatational race and school record performance of the meet. 5/12/12 CIF Prelims at Moorpark HS Results: http://dyestat.rise.espn.go.com/meetresults.jsp?meetID=54523 Our athletes competed very well in the highly competitive CIF Div. 2 Prelims. Jessica ran her perfect race in the 800m by going out in a blazing 65 seconds still keeping contact with the leaders who were through in 63.8. Jessica's second lap was key, because she maintained contact on and pushed the backstrecth and finished strong down the straight away in a 4 second pr, qualifying for CIF Finals, and she was .4 seconds off the school record. Blake and David competed tough in a tactical 800m were the leaders went through in 58 seconds, and both finished strong with Blake leading the way to a 3rd place finish and solid time of 2:00.45. Hannah Stevens got out after it in the first heat of the 3200m coming through her first mile in 5:30. She tried to maintain contact but the lead pack made a strong strong surge in the 5th lap and Hannah found her self in no mans land in the toughest part of the race, but finished strong in 11:23. Emily also got out very well in the 2nd heat of the girls 3200m coming through the first mile in 5:32. She was able to maintain contact with a few runners through the second half of the race which helped pull her to a six second pr of 11:27, which moves her to #8 All Time. Trevor was able to get out in good position in a tactical and physical heat of the boys 3200. Trevor came through the first mile in 4:46 throwing elbows, surging, and fighting for position. He maintained contact with the front pack until the final 2.5 laps where their pace was a little to much to handle. Trevor fnished strong in his second best time of the season 9:48 and with a great experience of being in a fast and physical race. Great Season Distance Squad! 5/3/12 PAC 7 League Finals at Atascadero HS PAC 7 League Finals Results: http://www.phototiming.com/meets/12pac7/completepac7.pdf What an exciting night at the PAC 7 League Finals for the AGHS Distance Squad. There is a long list of personal bests, which means that the kids were peaking and running fast at the right time of the season. Coach Reid and I are very proud of the way our Distance Squad performed. We had 4 runners make the all time list for their events, which includes Jessica (#4 in the 1600m 5:09.58); Hannah Stevens (#3 in the 3200m 11:14.81); Trevor Cowan (#6 in the 3200m 9:44.18); and Emily (#10 in the 3200m 11:33.80). The Boys Frosh/Soph 1600m was an exciting race to watch, because a blistering pace was set in the beginning and John Miles and Joey got after it and were able to finish strong for 2nd and 3rd place in pr times. The Varsity girls 1600m was a true battle between SLO and AG with freshman Jocelyn Reynolds following the punishing pace that Hoffman from SLO set. The pace was a little to much for Jocelyn who still finished in 5th and a great freshman time of 5:17, meanwhile Jessica hunted the chase pack and outkicked Rennick from SLO for 2nd Place and a blazing time of 5:09. The Girls Varsity 800m seemed a little tactical with Freshman Elizabeth Heyde controlling the first 300m, but soon after Hoffman from SLO took the lead and the race was on. The last 50 meters was exciting to watch with Jessica from the outside lane and Elizabeth from the inside sandwiching Rennick from SLO and digging deep for a 2nd and 3rd place finish. Elizabeth ran a scorching freshman time of 2:21 and Jesica completed a fantastic runner up double in the 1600m/800m. In the Boys Varsity 800m Blake Maule ran on Zander's heels the whole way to a 2nd place and sub 2:00 finish and David kicked it in with his usual finishing face for 4th Place and a pr of 2:00.9. The Girls 3200m was a great race to watch as the two seniors Hannah Stevens and Emily Johnston controlled the first half of the race and then held on and pushed the second half to finish 2nd and 3rd place with pr's. In the Boys 3200m Trevor Cowan rolled with the front pack running with confidence and took the lead with 3 laps to go and eventually held on for 2nd place in a pr time followed by a train of pr's from the boys distance squad. 4/6/12-4/7/12 Arcadia Invitational The Distance Squad represented AG to the fullest at the Arcadia Invite by setting three Distance relay school records, running quite a few personal bests, bringing home some hardware including a win, and competing tactically well against competitive fields. To start things off on Friday, the girls 4 x 800m relay raced to a 4 second win and school record time of 9:31 (2:22.8 average per leg) in the seeded race. The amazing part of this is that there were two freshman on this squad. Last year they ran 9:54 in this race. Three of the girls Jessica, Elizabeth, and Jocelyn ran personal bests, and Jade anchored us to a victory. The boys ran very well in the seeded 4 x800m relay by setting a school record time of 8:06 (2:02 average per leg) and Josh, David, and Blake all ran personal bests. In the girls 4 x 1600m Invitational relay (first time our distance squad has been in a invitational relay), the girls stormed to a 9th place finish against the state's best runners, set a 15 second school record 21:18 (5:19.5 average), and three of the girls set personal bests (Jocelyn, Elizabeth, and Jessica). The boys 4 x 1600m relay was highlighted by a strong anchor leg by Josh and a personal best by Trevor. The distance medley relays on Saturday were highlighted by strong performances by the AG boys and girls teams. Josh and Jessica both got each team out well in the 1200m leg and iwe were in the top 4 in both relays through out the race. Jade ran a very strong 800m leg 2:21.9, a second off of her pr. 3/31/12 SLO County Meet at Cuesta The SLO County Meet started off with great running conditions until the rain and wind came rolling in the 2nd half of the meet when the coaches 4x100m relay was under way. The 1600m were exciting events to watch with Freshman Jocelyn Reynolds blowing the frosh/soph field away with a confidence building effort of 5:23. In the boys frosh/soph four lap event Jordan, Kevin, and Kyle all ran tactically smart races which lead them to solid pr's. In the girls varsity 1600m Jessica continued her success in the event with a pr of 5:14, which moves her down to #6 on the all time list. In the boys varsity 1600m Josh and Punisher (Jonathon) both ran with the pack and Josh went for the win with 200m to go, but had to settle for 2nd (solid effort for being sick). Both Josh and Jonathon ran great midseason times of 4:25 and 4:32. In the half miles things got interesting with the rain and wind. Jocelyn ran another gutsy race which lead her to her second win of the day outkicking her competitor in the final straightaway. John Nichols battled through his sickness and dominated the frosh/soph 800m working the 3rd 200m with a pr of 2:06.03. 3/28/11 SLO Dual Meet at AGHS Another great day of racing for the Distance Squad. With only a day recovery from the County Meet we were able to come back and run very strong against a very fit SLO team. The girls 1600m was the fasest girls 1600m I have yet to see on AGHS's track where the SLO girl won in a blazing 5:15 and Hannah trailed in a very strong effort in 5:17. Josh got his redemption against his rivals in the 1600m by cruising to victory in 4:36 and Nate finally pushed the third lap and kept contact to run a couple second pr on our track in 4:45. Jessica rolled out in the 800m almost winning (driving all the way through the line) and running a huge three second pr in 2:24.7. Jonathon ran a two second pr in the 800m 2:08, but most importantly he punished the third 200m and powered down the homestretch almost getting the win. Libby ran a 7 second pr in the 3200m 10:27 placing thrid and Josh helped push him the last lap to finish strong. Great Job Crew, I love the way we are racing. The race was very tactical with Elias Geydon taking it out fast the first lap and Hugo was leading the chase pack. Things got very interesting the 3rd lap when other runners started to make moves, but Hugo raced smart and covered them. On the last lap Hugo was in 2nd place with a 125 meters to go, but ran out of gas on the final straight away. What a tough race.Splits:400m: 66 800m: 2:11 65 1200m: 3:16 65 1600m 4:21.72 65 |
6/12/10 Golden West Invite at Folsom High SchoolGWI Link to Photo Gallery of Runners: Great Job Distance Crew! Way to compete against some of the best from around the state and other states. The freshman boys ran very tough in very windy and hot (100 degrees) weather. Trevor ran very smart and finished in sixth place right with 2nd through fifth place in a time of 4:44 for the full mile. He raced right with the pack and had a blazing last 100m. Jonathon ran very tough but ran out of gas the last 600m. These guys ran against some of the best freshman milers in the state. Hannah Stevens had a solid first mile, but had a very unforgiving second mile. It was still a great experience for Jonathon and Hannah Stevens. Hugo's performance was the highlight of the evening for the AGHS runners. The sun was setting and it cooled down quite a bit for his race. Hugo was content to put himself right in the mix the first 2 laps of the race and started to knock off 70-71 second laps. The pace slowed a little bit the second mile so Hugo decided to start racing when it most mattered and took the lead of the chase pack (2nd place) the 5th lap. On the last lap he tried to make a big move in the beginning, but fell behind when a guy past him on the back stretch but pulled it together with 150m and finished hard battling with the 4th place runner and almost catching the 2nd place runner. He had a 14 second pr (9:40 - 9:26) and moved to #4 on the All Tine 3200m list. Great Job everyone! Splits: Hugo (3200m): 69,2:19-70,3:30-70,4:42-71,5:54-71,7:07-73,8:19-72,9:26.79-66 Hannah (3200m): 83,2:43-80,4:09-86,5:35-85,7:04-89,8:35-90,10:08-92,11:36-89 Trevor (1 Mile): 72, 2:26-74, 3:37-71, 4:44.4-66 Jonathon (1 Mile): 73, 2:27-74, 3:41-73, 4:57.2-75 |
5/15/10 CIF Prelims at MoorPark HSDivision II Prelims Great Job to all of our athletes for making it and competing very well in CIF Prelims. We are in a very tough Section with stiff competition. Here's some race summaries:Boys 1600m: Hugo got caught up in a very tactical race which was moving at a pedestarian pace the first two laps and then he broke out to the lead and a ran a 2:04 last 800m to win his heat pretty easily in 4:21. Things are looking good for him next week. Great Job Hugo! It's all coming together!!! Girls 800m:McKenzie had to face some very fast and deep competition in the 800's. The girls in her heat were content on taking it out fast. McKenzie ran very tough and finished close to pr (2:20) in 4th placed and missed advancing on. Great Job McKz!Boys 800m: Dan followed his race plan and went out in 58 seconds and pushed the 3rd 200m keeping contact with the pack and kicked it home to a sweet pr of 2:00.72. Great Job Danny Boy! Girls 3200m: Hannah Stevens followed her race plan of going out with the leaders and coming through the mile in 5:30 looking smooth, but her sickness from the past 3 weeks caught up with her in the second half of the race. She fought her way through it and ran tough to finish in 9th place in her heat and 11:20 (1 second shy of her pr).Great Job Hannah! Boys 3200m: Cullen went out and was pulled along by the massive train of boys hitting a consistent pace. Cullen tried his best to stay with the chase pack and battled through the last 3 laps running a great time of 9:52. Great Job Cullen!4x400m: McKenzie ran great and split a 61.9 and Hugo got after it and ran 51.4. Way to represent the D-Squad. The boys relay easily qualified onto next week. | ||

What a great weekend of Track and Field for the Distance squad.
On friday night our boys and girls distance medley relay squads smoked the fields down at Camarillo. In the Girls Relay Hannah Stevens caught the leader on the final leg, then raced her and then put a gap on her in the last lap. In the boys relay, after the first two legs Josh Davis opened up the lead for us which was established by Uriel and Hugo cruised a 4:29 on the final leg to lead us to victory. We looked realy strong.
On Saturday Natalie Hagler and Trevor Cowan ran really strong to place well and pr in the f/s 1600m and 800m. In the girls varsity 1600m our girls team made it look like a XC race by packing it up. Hannah Stevens raced well up front to place 2nd in a pr of 5:18. In the boys 1600m Josh Davis busted out a huge pr 4:30 finishing in 9th place pulling Cullen, Dan, and Jose along in this very competitive 1600m. In the varsity boys 800m Hugo ran a tough race in the wind. He got into trouble in the beginning, because he had to dodge the official who was standing in the middle of the track and then got caught off. He had to waste alot of energy getting around the massive field and by that time the two leaders had a large gap on the field. He ran a solid 2:00.1 and almost caught 2nd place at the end. At Atascadero Amanda Trecartin came up big with a huge pr in the 3200m running 12:01 placing 5th. Her previous pr was 12:36 from a couple weeks ago.
