Go Green!

The ASB class second quarter goal is "Going Green"! Students will pair up and come up with ideas that will help our school and community be more environmentally friendly. Ideas range from a campus clean up to a clothing drive. Every student is working together to make this sucessful. Pictures of these projects will be posted up soon!

Evelyn Cardenas, Susana Calderon, and Sam Trejo teamed up to do a clothing drive as their going green project. They succesfully collected 4 bins full of clothing items. They donated the clothes to Childrens Resource Network of the Central Coast. Lisa Ray is the founder of this non-profit organization. She recently opened a "Teen's Closet" where homeless kids can you go shopping for free!

Kenny Cromer and JT Wells desgined and constructed shelving for the re-use of posters.

Halina Santoyo, Missi Ramsey's(not pictured)and Daniel Jennings going green project is a compose bin. Students are able to throw in food scraps which will then be used for soil. It is located near the far end of AG island. Food scraps collections are every tuesday and thursday on the quad.

Sonia Carreno and Gracie Albano's project was to spread awarness of the gum pollution on our school campus. Students had the opportunity to place the gum on the wall instead of on our campus.

Alex Cunningham and Taylor Witcher's going green project involves using re-usable sandwich bags, they are currently being sold at the student store for $3.00 a bag.
