Grover Beach Elementary School An International Baccalaureate Candidate School Dear Parents/Guardians, Welcome to Grover Beach Elementary School. Our school is located two blocks from the main businesses that border the small, coastal town of Grover Beach. The neighborhood is zoned for both small business and residential. Single dwelling homes, several apartment buildings, a mobile home park, and approximately five small businesses border the school. In addition to the 504 kindergarten through sixth grade students at Grover Beach Elementary, the large site also houses two California State Preschool programs, two district Special Education preschool programs, and a district preschool Speech and Language (SNIP) program. Grover Beach has also developed an extensive after-school enrichment program, known as Bright Futures. The enrichment program gives students the opportunity to participate in variety of fine arts classes, organized sports, and homework clubs until 6:00 p.m. daily. More than 100 students participate in the Bright Futures Program each school year. With the adult education program, combined with the Early Bird program in the morning, it is not uncommon to have students participating in some type of activity on campus beginning as early as 7:00 a.m. in the morning through 8:00 p.m. in the evening. I look forward to a postive school year and getting to know each and every student here at Grover Beach. Sincerely, Mr. Pablo Chavero Principal |
