The Lucia Mar Unified School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Raynee Daley, Ed.D. as its Assistant Superintendent of Business Services. Dr. Daley will succeed Janice Smith who holds the position on an interim basis. Dr. Daley comes to Lucia Mar from the Merced Union High School District where she serves as the Deputy Superintendent/Chief Business Official. She brings 25 years of experience in public education to Lucia Mar. Dr. Daley has worked in business services operations, human resources, teaching, counseling, and administration.

In her current role with Merced Union HSD, she is responsible for planning, communicating, and managing an $85 million dollar operating budget, responsible for directing the management of a $149.5 million general obligation bond, and providing oversight to the construction of facilities.

"We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Daley to Lucia Mar. She brings a great wealth of knowledge and expertise that will help us navigate these challenging financial times," Jim Hogeboom, Superintendent of Lucia Mar said.

Dr. Daley holds a School Business Management Certificate from University of Southern California, an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership from the University of LaVerne, a Tier II Administrative Services Credential, a Pupil Personnel Services Credential, and a Masters of Science Degree.

"I am excited to join the Lucia Mar team; a team of teachers, administrators, staff and a school board that is innovative in designing an educational system that prepares students for their future.  I have been fortunate to have been a part of an excellent district, and I expect that my skills and experiences will continue to grow as I join the Lucia Mar team," Dr. Daley said.

She holds professional memberships in the California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO) and the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA).  She is responsible for two publications including Principal as Architect:  Building Teacher Leadership Capacity, University of La Verne, Dissertation, and The High School Principalship: Changing Minds and Creating a Team!.  Chapter 8 in The Body and Soul of Leadership, Harvey, T. and Kemper, L, editors, ULV Graphics, University of La Verne.

Dr. Daley will begin her new role in the Lucia Mar Unified School District in July 2011.
