Tiffany Alcantara

Effective July 18, 2011 the Lucia Mar Unified School District Board of Education will have a vacancy in Trustee Area Number One which serves the Nipomo area. Applications to fill the vacancy will begin being accepted on July 19, 2011. The opening is occurring due to the resignation of board member Tiffany Alcantara, resulting from a change of residency. Board of Education members must live in the area they serve.

"Tiffany will be greatly missed. She truly cares about the education of our students, and that showed through all her hard work and dedication while she was a member of our board. We were fortunate to have someone of her caliber on our team," said Jim Hogeboom, Superintendent of Lucia Mar Unified School District.

Information about the process and applications will be available on the district website via www.lmusd.org on July 19, 2011 and will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. on September 8, 2011.  To be considered for appointment, applicants must reside within Trustee Area Number One and be a registered voter in the district. The successful candidate will serve on the board until the November 6, 2012 general election.

The Lucia Mar Unified School District is the largest school district in San Luis Obispo County and serves more than 10,600 students in its 17 schools. For more information on the district and this opening please visit www.lmusd.org.
