               <![CDATA[The South County Education Foundation is a non-profit 501c(3), Tax ID#770020195, whose
purpose is to provide teachers in the Lucia Mar Unified School District with funding for curriculum
based classroom projects that are not District funded. The focus of the Foundation is the arts and
sciences with emphasis on enrichment activities.

These grants are provided to teachers in the Lucia Mar Unified School District in order to offer
high-quality learning opportunities beyond the scope of the regular curriculum. Funds cannot be
used to purchase textbooks, school supplies, electronic equipment and classroom equipment or class
sets of literature. Grants are not intended to fund materials that could be brought into the classroom
by the students or those things that parents could provide for the students. The number of available
grants will be determined by the availability of the Foundation’s funds.

The donation was presented to the Lucia Mar Foundation for Innovation today at a groundbreaking and building dedication ceremony. The $250,000 donation will be used to support Lucia Mar's newest school, <strong>Central Coast New Tech High School,</strong> and to further Lucia Mar's vision of 21<sup>st</sup> century education. To honor PG&amp;E's generous donation, the Lucia Mar Board of Education Trustees approved the naming of the <strong>
<em>PG&amp;E Center for Learning, </em>
</strong>a building on the Central Coast New Tech High School campus. Numerous local dignitaries were on hand for the check presentation and building dedication that took place at the future site of Central Coast New Tech High School, which will be located in Nipomo, CA. </span>

<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Judkins Middle School is one of seven schools in the Lucia Mar Unified School District that began TAP implementation in the 2011-2012 school year.&nbsp; TAP is supported by grants from the federal Teacher Incentive Fund and the Stuart Foundation awarded to the district in 2010.&nbsp; </span>
