Welcome to Ocean View Elementary School, Home of the Cougars!  Our vision is thatOcean View students will be engaged, challenged and inspired to become self-directed, independent learners through effective communication, critical thinking, and an ability to work in teams.  We emphasize these scholarly attributes at each grade level through the spoken and written word as well as with the use of technology.

Ocean View is a neighborhood school located between Grand Avenue and Highway 101 in Arroyo Grande, California. Our 23 credentialed teachers serve approximately 585 students.  We have a wide range of programs to meet the needs and interests of our wide-range of students.  Some of the experiences offered for students include:  Readers are Leaders, Project Wisdom, DestiNation Imagination, GATE, RSP, SDC, Social Skills Groups, Homework Club, Accelerated 6th grade math, Dance Troupe, and a yearly talent show. Our active and supportive PTA plan a range of annual events including:  the Harvest Dinner Auction, parent education nights, Spirit Nights, Spring Carnival, as well as assemblies and field trips for our students. We emphasize Scholarly Attributes and expect each student to do his/her academic best in a challenging, engaging, inspiring, and safe learning environment.
