I am excited to be teaching kindergarten this year at Ocean View. I spent the summer camping and working on my house. I am ready to head back to the classroom.
Two of my boys, Garrett and Thomas, will be starting high school and my oldest son, Jake, is a Junior. My husband is teaching First Grade here at Ocean View.
Teaching is the best job in the world. I have been teaching for 21 years in kindergarten, first, third, fourth, and fifth and can honestly say I have loved every grade I have taught. This will be my 5th year in kindergarten and I can't wait to get started! |

Being a kindergarten classroom teacher, literacy is the most important aspect of the curriculum. Much time is spent practicing writing, talking, and playing with sounds and words. I also place great value on math and my class activities reflect that as well. The attention span of a kindergartener is not very long, so in order to maximize their learning we will be switching from one activity to another often. |
